UD Almería centre-forward Léo Baptistão was honoured in the early stages of the match between the Rojiblancos and CD Tenerife, which concluded the LaLiga Hypermotion regular season. He has joined the '100 Club' by playing 100 official fixtures as a Rojiblanco.
That special and significant game took place on the penultimate Matchday matchday at the Anduva Stadium in the Burgos-based town of Miranda de Ebro. Now, at the UD Almería Stadium, the 32-year-old has received a well-deserved tribute that has also served to recognise the great footballing career the Brazilian striker has carved out since joining the Club.
Baptistão made his UD Almería debut in the 2022/23 season, the campaign that saw them be back in the big time. Head coach Rubi, who knew him quite well, backed him and he didn't disappoint. 28 appearances and 5 goals were the tally during that campaign. In 2023/24, also in the top flight of Spanish football, the Brazilian played 32 LaLiga matches and two Spanish Cup ties, registering 6 goals.
In the current 2024/25 season, Baptistão has played 37 regular season fixtures and a couple of Spanish Cup ties. He has grabbed 10 goals in the league, producing 5 assists, and one in the Cup tournament.
