The left-winger signs three-season extension with UD Almeria
José Carlos Lazo and UD Almería have reached an agreement to extend his contract for three more seasons, so the Cádiz-born player will continue to wear the Rojiblancos jersey until June 2027. The left-winger was one of the first signings made by the new Club’s management. He arrived on loan from Getafe CF in the 2019/20 campaign and at the end of it, UD Almería activated the option to buy clause in order to keep the footballer until June 2024.
His contract has now been extended until 2027, coinciding with an excellent moment in the player's form, who has also become one of the team's captains. In fact, the 25-year-old has worn the team’s armband in the first two LaLiga SmartBank games against FC Cartagena and Real Oviedo.
José Carlos Lazo featured in 37 games in his first season at UD Almería scoring 10 goals, while he played a similar number of matches in the last campaign, although scoring 4 goals. At the beginning of this campaign, he stated that he wants to be the player he was during his first year in Almeria and after a brilliant pre-season with goals included, he’s made a great start to the 2021/21 season.
