Last practice on Sunday before playing host to Espanyol

Almería will train behind closed doors at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium

Almería are on the brink of accomplishing preparations for Monday’s game against Espanyol de Barcelona. A behind-closed-door training session is taking place this Sunday at the Juegos Mediterráneos pitch, the same stage where the match will be played against the current LaLiga SmartBank chart-toppers.

The Rojiblancos have been training this Saturday at their training base, the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos, where José Gomes has insisted on tactical skills to boost confidence when taking on Espanyol on Monday. In the event of a victory, Almeria will close the gap on runners-up RCD Mallorca, who lost 1-0 to CD Castellón.

During the pre-match press conference José Gomes looked ahead Monday's game and made it clear that he does not want to look at the table. He prefers his team to go forward one game at a time and see where Almería end up ranked in the end. The Portuguese does not lose hope, but he has his feet on the ground. That is why Gomes has not hesitated to admit that winning automatic promotion is quite difficult.

Jose Corpas will sit out the next fixture due to suspension while Ivanildo and Morlanes are up for grabs again.
