Following the respective play-off finals concluding on Sunday, 21st June, the LaLiga Hypermotion is now set. The season is gaining momentum with the return of historically great teams and promises to be at least as competitive as last campaign.
Old faces such as Real Valladolid, CD Leganés, and UD Las Palmas are rivals who have dropped down after their relegations from top-flight LaLiga EA Sports. The three have accompanied the Rojiblancos in their last promotion season, 2021/22.
On the other hand, Levante UD, Elche CF and Real Oviedo are returning to the elite football in Spain the former two did so through automatic promotion, while the latter won the play-offs last weekend. The Oviedistas knocked the Indálicos in a competitive semi-final.
FC Cartagena, Racing de Ferrol, CD Eldense, and CD Tenerife are the 4 teams that have dropped down a tier and therefore have faced the promoted sides from the third-tier Primera RFEF: Group I winners Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa and Group II champions AD Ceuta FC. FC Andorra and Real Sociedad 'B' join them after winning the promotion play-offs. The León outfit were UD Almería's opponents in the last Spanish Cup and had not made it to the second tier since the 2017/18 season. The Indálicos faced off against the txuri urdin team in the 2021/22 season.
Gerard Piqué's FC Andorra and AD Ceuta FC will be new opponents for UD Almería in LaLiga Hypermotion. Granada CF, Cádiz CF, Córdoba CF, Málaga CF, CD Mirandés, Racing de Santander, SD Huesca, Real Zaragoza, SD Eibar, Albacete Balompié, Sporting de Gijón, Burgos CD, CD Castellón and Deportivo de La Coruña remain in the second tier from last season.
