Full Ownership Transferred to Saudi Investment Group Led by SMC Group

UD Almería confirms that a final agreement has been concluded for the full transfer of ownership to a Saudi investment group led by SMC Group, a leading company in the fields of media, advertising, and technology in the Middle East. The group includes prominent investors, notably the Abna Al Theeb Group.

The transaction follows the completion of all contractual terms with the club’s previous owner, His Excellency Turki Al Al-Sheikh, and is now undergoing the final stages of regulatory approval with LaLiga and other relevant authorities.

This acquisition represents a strategic transition aimed at building on the club’s progress and further developing a modern, sustainable investment and operational model. The new ownership is committed to enhancing the club’s presence both on the sporting and commercial fronts.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Khereiji will assume the position of Chairman of the Board. With extensive experience across media, advertising, and sports investment, Mr. Al-Khereiji brings a forward-thinking approach to leadership, focused on innovation, commercial growth, and long-term value creation.

UD Almería assures its fans, partners, and stakeholders that this new phase reflects a strong commitment to the club’s future. The new ownership intends to build on existing achievements and continue driving progress that benefits both the club and the wider Almería community.
