UD Almería building up towards testing CD Castellón trip
The Rojiblancos begin preparing for Friday's match. All three training sessions this week will be delivered behind closed doors
UD Almería are now building up towards the CD Castellón trip on Friday after their victory against FC Cartagena. The match will take place at 9pm at the SkyFi Castalia Stadium (Matchday 36). The Rojiblancos trained behind closed doors at the UD Almería Stadium, where they will continue to be put through their paces on Wednesday and Thursday.
Lázaro Vinicius, who was ruled out last Sunday due to a virus, has been with his team-mates, so Rachad, Chumi, and Baba remain among Rubi's absences for this new and key match, as will the remaining six.
UD Almería have very little room for error due to the tight 8 top-of-the-table sides. The match in Castellón will also be a testing trip for the Indálicos, who have been struggling on the road in this second half of the season. They have only won in Córdoba at the start of 2025 and drawn in Gijón. The rest of the games have ended up in losses in Albacete, La Coruña, Eibar, Burgos, and Granada.
In Castalia, they face opponents who, despite having been winless in 6 matches, have drawn 4, the last 3 in a row. They also come off a point bagged in Santander. The Castellón side is one of the league's most prolific teams, although they have also conceded goals.
They are 4 points above the relegation zone and on Friday they want to take a big step forward in their aspirations and in front of their fans. The match is extremely difficult for UD Almería.
