UD Almería enjoy Christmas break before resuming training for Granada CF game
The Rojiblancos set for 8-day holiday, will return to action on 30 December ahead of key home match
UD Almería first-team players are officially on their Christmas break, with the squad enjoying 8 days off before returning to training on Tuesday, 30 December. The Rojiblancos will kick off their preparations with a double session, ahead of their first league match of the new year, scheduled for Saturday, 3 January, at home against Granada CF.
Following their match at La Rosaleda, the players began their well-earned holiday break, which will last until next Tuesday. Some players chose to remain in Málaga after the match, opting to travel directly from the city to their various Christmas destinations, taking advantage of the city's strong transport connections.
Injured players such as Federico Bonini also made the trip to Málaga to support their teammates, having completed their recovery work in Almería. The Italian centre-back, however, is not expected to return to action until the end of January or early February.
When training resumes, the condition of several players will be closely monitored, including Nico Melamed, who is in the final stages of his rehabilitation, and Chumi, who was a late scratch for the Málaga match. Selvi and Lucas Robertone’s recoveries will also be assessed.
Additionally, the Club will be keeping an eye on Soko’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, with hopes that if Cameroon does not progress past the group stage, he could rejoin the squad in early January.
