UD Almería take on the Saudi giants in Portugal on Tuesday (KO 7pm Spanish Time) as García Pimienta's team face one of their toughest summer challenges
UD Almería travel to Portugal on Tuesday for their 4th pre-season friendly, taking on Al Nassr FC at the Cidade do Futebol in Oeiras, Lisbon (KO 7pm Spanish Time). The Portuguese Football Federation's national training centre will host the fixture, presented by Alawaly.
The Rojiblancos have shown steady progress throughout the summer, with friendly matches against Águilas FC, Granada CF and Real Betis providing valuable minutes, improving fitness levels and helping the squad adapt to García Pimienta's playing philosophy. Tuesday's clash now offers a significant step up in quality against the reigning Saudi champions.
Al Nassr FC boast a squad packed with world-class talent, including football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside João Félix, Kingsley Coman and Sadio Mané, among several other top-level internationals.
Training Update
The squad completed a double training session on Monday as García Pimienta continued to implement his tactical ideas. Ball possession remains at the heart of the team's identity, with every exercise centred around the ball. The coaching staff are focused on developing a compact, cohesive side that attacks and defends as one unit, ensuring every player fully embraces the team's collective approach both in and out of possession.
New signing Mikel Vesga trained normally alongside his new team-mates and is now fully integrated into the first-team squad.
