Iñaki Arbea met with UD Almería 'B' and youth players to discuss match-fixing and sports betting
LaLiga and its clubs continue to work together to strengthen integrity in football and prevent any practices that could jeopardise the integrity of the competition. To this end, it is essential that players and coaching staff are aware of the existing threats, current regulations and the procedures to follow when faced with potentially fraudulent conduct.
These workshops provide professionals with direct information about the risks associated with match manipulation, betting and any other irregular practices, while also reminding them of the channels available to report and raise concerns about such situations.
During the session, Iñaki Arbea presented a number of real-life cases recorded both in Spain and in other European countries, placing particular emphasis on the consequences that certain actions can have for all parties involved: the player, the club and the competition itself.
Through this initiative, UD Almería aim to reinforce their commitment to integrity, transparency and fair play, while continuing to work closely with LaLiga to prevent any conduct that could harm football and those who are part of it.
