More than 40 young players begin a fortnight of football, learning and values at the Francisco Pomedio stadium
While the UD Almería first-team squad began pre-season with their medicals, the UD Almería Foundation's Summer Camp also got underway on Monday, with more than 40 boys and girls taking to the pitch at the Francisco Pomedio stadium.
From 9am, participants received their training kits before being divided into groups according to their age and playing positions. The UDA Foundation's coaching staff then launched the 2-week programme, combining technical football training with the values that are at the heart of the club's youth development philosophy.
The excitement was evident throughout the opening day as the young players enjoyed a variety of activities both on and off the pitch, designed to help them develop their football skills while learning the importance of teamwork, respect and sportsmanship.
The daily programme will run until 2pm throughout this week and next. Alongside their training sessions and educational activities, the participants will also have the opportunity to meet several first-team players, who will visit the football camp to spend time with the youngsters, answer questions and pose for photographs.
