UD Almería return via Granada following trip to Asturias
The Rojiblancos travelled back from Gijón on a charter flight to Granada before completing the journey to Almería by road. Recovery training scheduled for Monday
The UD Almería travelling squad returned from Asturias following Sunday’s match at El Molinón-Enrique Castro 'Quini' stadium although unlike the Club's usual away travel arrangements, the team did not fly directly back to Almería.
Due to kick-off times, the distance between Gijón and Asturias Airport and the operating schedule at Almería Airport, the UD Almería travelling squad instead travelled by charter flight to Granada before completing the journey to Almería City by coach. The alternative would have been to spend an additional night in Asturias.
The Rojiblancos were scheduled to arrive back in the early hours of Monday morning. Despite the late return, the squad will still train on Monday, with the session focused on recovery work, as is customary after Matchday. The players will then rest on Tuesday before returning to training on Wednesday to begin preparations for the final match of the regular season.
UD Almería will host Real Valladolid at the UD Almería Stadium on Sunday, 31 May with kick-off scheduled for 6:30pm CET.
Rubi’s side will have 4 training sessions to prepare for the encounter as the team look to arrive in the best possible shape for the decisive fixture against Real Valladolid.
