Desert Cup is finally officially official
The exciting tournament promoted by UD Almería will be held 5-8 December in Roquetas de Mar and will have the presence of great international football academies
The Desert Cup, a tournament promoted by UD Almería has now been officially official. Roquetas de Mar Mayor Gabriel Amat, UDA Managing Director Mohamed El Assy and the provincial deputy for Digitalisation and Transparency Manuel Cortés, have talked to the media to highlight the inspiring values of this tournament such as teamwork, sportsmanship and fun.
During his speech, the Mayor of Roquetas de Mar highlighted the great importance for the city of 'welcoming more than 800 players' from various youth tiers. 'They're going to be important days for all those people who are passionate about football,' he stressed. Gabriel Amat stated: 'Roquetas de Mar will always be willing to run any activity that is good for the province of Almería. We're going to welcome this event as we have done with other similar events, which have been developed with great success. Things will continue to be done between the City Council and the management of UD Almería.'
Mohamed El Assy, who was grateful to the Roquetas Council for hosting this first Desert Cup explained that the tournament 'was born with a clear vocation for the future,' since the ambition of the Club is that the event 'becomes well-known across Andalusia and Spain.' Likewise, the Club's managing director highlighted the inspiring values of this championship: 'It's an excellent opportunity for children to demonstrate their footballing skills on the pitch and live the unique experience of competing in a friendly and constructive environment. Thanks to the Roquetas de Mar City Council, we've been able to organise this event that not only promotes sport, but also teamwork, respect and effort.
It's for this reason that the UDA CEO sent an invitation to the entire population to experience first-hand on 5-8 December the Desert Cup, which will take place 'in a safe and suitable environment for the participants.'
