Koné gets back six months later

The Malian striker played his last game for UD Almería, before his serious injury, on 6th October against Athletic Club de Bilbao at the San Mamés Stadium

Ibrahima Koné has been the highlight of this Matchday 31 because after six months and a week he has been named in the first team squad list. The Malian striker suffered a serious injury on 13th October, playing for his country's national team in a friendly against Uganda. He fractured his ankle and a few days later, on the 17th October, he was operated on by Drs Pedro Luis. Ripoll and Mariano de Prado. A long road of recovery then began. So much so that until 17th, January, he did not begin to do ball work alone with the Club's medical services.

On 27th February, he began to integrate into the group, but doing only part of the training. His progress was positive and in March, Koné was one more player in the squad. He did the same exercises than his teammates and in addition, other more specific ones to reach the best possible shape. This past Saturday Pepe Mel named him in the squad list, taking advantage of the absence, also for injury, of Marezi, without forgetting that of Luis Suárez, so that the Malian striker is now involved in the first team training.

Koné arrived at UD Almería this season, featuring in one of the many negative chapters that the team has suffered during the present campaign. In fact, he was one of the last to join the squad in the summer transfer window. He was only a starter on Matchdays 7 and 9 in Seville and Bilbao, respectively, while coming off the bench he played in Matchdays 2 (Real Madrid CF), 3 (Cádiz CF), 4 (Celta de Vigo), 5 (Villarreal CF), 6 (Valencia CF) and 8 (Granada CF). In total, 325 game minutes, 139 of them as a starter.

The 24-year-old Malian striker signed for UD Almería until 2028 and now he has a month and a half ahead of him to keep up the god work.
