Kaiky will not join up with Brazil U23 for pre-Olympic qualifiers

UD Almería have started a training week that will end on Sunday taking on revelation team Girona FC next Sunday at the Power Horse Stadium. The first home game of 2024 will also be the first of the second half of the league. Central defender Kaiky, who had been called up to the Brazil U23 squad to compete in the pre-Olympic tournament will finally stay in Almería. This championship is not within the FIFA calendar and therefore there has been a conversation with the footballer so that he continues to compete in the Spanish top-tier.
UD Almería have trained on the Anexo training pitch focusing on their physical fitness, finishing drills, recreation of match situations... ahead of the encounter against the in-form Catalans.
It will be a long week of preparations after having done a recovery session last Sunday and therefore, Wednesday will be a day off for the players. A short break to face the three last training sessions before facing the joint top-of-the-table pacesetters along with Real Madrid CF.
This Monday, Luis Suárez has done part of the football practice with the group, while Gonzalo Melero remains on the sidelines. The only footballer in the medical room is Koné. Šviderský, Marcos Peña and Rachad, who played for UD Almería 'B' last Sunday, have been training with the first teamers as well, although without too much demand in training.
Some players from the squad have gone to the dressing room before the end of the session for several reasons, although everyone did so as an injury prevention considering that there is a long week ahead. As from this Tuesday, all sessions will be conducted behind closed doors.
