Kaiky to be one month on treatment table while Šviderský undergoes ACL surgery

The Brazilian defender suffers a quadriceps muscle injury. The Slovakian has been operated on by orthopaedic surgeon Pedro Luis Ripoll

Brazilian defender Kaiky Fernandes will be on the treatment table for around 4 weeks after the injury he suffered last Friday before travelling to Madrid. The centre-back picked up a quadriceps muscle injury in his left leg at the end of the last training session prior to the trip on Matchday 32. The Club's medical services estimate that the 19-year-old will not be available for selection for approximately a month.

Apart from this setback, and as reported at the time, Martin Šviderský underwent successful surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus of his left knee last Friday. The Slovakian sustained this injury a couple of weeks ago during a match with UD Almería ‘B’ in the Malaga-based town of El Palo and it will keep the 20-year-old out of action for about 8 months. The operation was carried out at the Ruber Internacional clinic in Madrid by orthopaedic surgeon Pedro Luís Ripoll, from Ripoll and De Prado.
