Juanjo Nieto, first signing for 2021/22 season
UD Almería sign the right-back from Real Oviedo, who has unrivalled experience in Segunda Division, to boost defensive options
The first signing ahead of the new season 2021/22 is the right-back Juan José Nieto Zarzoso, a well-known defender in the Spanish second tier due to his superb tackles on the right wing. He has played a total of 66 league matches in Segunda Division and his unrivalled experience is another of his distinguishing features.
The Castellon-born footballer has been one of the key players of Real Oviedo in the last two campaigns as he made 57 starts with three goals and seven assists added to his name at the Carbayón club. He arrives as a free agent after finishing his contract with the club from Asturias and has signed for Unión Deportiva Almería for the next two seasons and another optional.
Juanjo Nieto previously played for Real Valladolid, Atlético Baleares, RCD Mallorca and Hércules CF. He has stood out in the Spanish second tier as he has been a regular player over the last two seasons, besides the footballer has operated as a winger in quite a few games thanks to his sprints on the right flank.
The 26-year-old defender has already completed his medical and has also signed his contract as a new Rojiblanco.
