Juan Villar stays in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19

The club quickly implemented LaLiga protocol. The player is asymptomatic. Individual work-outs on Sunday

UD Almería right winger Juan Villar stays in quarantine at home after testing positive for Covid-19 in the PCR tests carried out by the team last Saturday. The club quickly implemented the protocol required by LaLiga, so that the 32-year-old player has been isolated from the squad.

As a consequence of this setback, all of the UD Almería footballers underwent a new Covid-19 PCR testing on Sunday. All of the players received negative results last night, although Juan Villar was again the only member who tested positive. In this way, and taking into account the antigen tests that were also performed, the team travel to Oviedo according to plan with all the health security guarantees.

As established by LaLiga protocol, Almería could not conduct the last planned training session prior to competing in the North of Spain on Monday. By the same token, the footballers only worked out individually. Neither strategy nor tactical drills were practised.

Juan Villar is in good spirits at home and has no symptoms. In the next few days, new tests will be performed.
