Juan Villar hospitalised following shoulder dislocation

The forward was taken to the Virgen del Mar Hospital in order to be operated on

UD Almeria striker Juan Villar, who came onto the field in the 60th minute of the home match against Real Sociedad ‘B’, was forced to come off the pitch during added time after suffering a dislocation in his left shoulder. The footballer, after being treated by the Club's medical services at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium, was taken to the Virgen del Mar Hospital to undergo different tests.

After the injury assessment, it was decided that the player should be anesthetised and taken straight away to the operating room to reduce his shoulder dislocation. Juan Villar’s wife and Club Doctors Diego Portugal and Jesús Dueñas accompanied the player. In the next few hours, the real extent of the injury will be known.

Bear in mind that Juan Villar has been sidelined for about 2 months after sustaining a pre-season injury. The Huelva-born played his first minutes against SD Eibar on the last Matchday, and he came on as a second-half substitute within 60 minutes against Real Sociedad ‘B’ as he has been fighting tooth and nail to work his way back and join his team-mates. It seems that he is down on his luck after picking up another injury when he was getting back to full fitness.
