Juan Gutiérrez, another budding player from Uruguayan football who arrives at Almería

The 18-year old forward comes from Danubio FC and has signed for five years; the summer transfer window is in full swing

It seems that today is the transfer’s day in Almería; the third signing of the day and the tenth during this summer transfer window without counting Nikola Maraš, the Serbian centre-back on-loan bought until 2024, and the attacking midfielder Fran Villalba, who extends one more year his loan spell. Juan Gutiérrez is the latest player who has just signed his contract in Marbella, where the club has set up its temporary ‘operations centre’, because the team’s pre-season is taking place in that coastal city. The new player is another young promising footballer from Uruguay like Cristian Olivera, who is 18 years old and signs, in the same way, for five seasons.

He comes from Danubio FC and he made his debut with its first-team when he was just 16 years old. Since then, he has played 38 matches between the Apertura, Intermedio and Clausura tournaments, and Copa Libertadores. He is also a Uruguay international in the lower categories. He is a versatile player who can operate as a centre-forward, second striker and winger.

Juan Manuel Gutiérrez Freire was born on 4th February, 2002 in the city of Atlántida (Uruguay), he is 1.78 metres tall, and he was a starter 11 times in Torneo Apertura 2020.
