Two consecutive wins sealed automatic promotion. The Rojiblancos are set to strengthen their hold on second place

Jose Gomes’ troops are looking to seize their Spanish league territory by strengthening their hold on the automatic promotion second spot following two consecutive victories. The Rojiblancos have come a long way to get there despite the difficulties and setbacks of the championship. 

This training week will certainly be slightly different considering that there is no league action at the weekend. Jose Gomes’ men host AD Alcorcon next Monday (kick-off 7:00 p.m. CET) bearing in mind that the next Madrid-based opponents managed to escape relegation last Monday as they turned on the style to beat Mirandés 4-0. 

Iván Balliu is back in the frame for the next league appointment once the right-back served a one-game ban, while Maraš will be out of action as the Serbian defender has to serve a one-game suspension due to accumulation of yellow cards. 

After two days off the pitch, individual players were provided with tailored training workloads in the first workout of the week since those who played the most minutes in Gerona have left before training started, while the others stayed longer playing small-sided games. The squad will be exercising at the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos in the mornings until Sunday, the latter will take place behind closed
