José Gomes is now in the driving seat

The new UD Almeria head coach shows character and personality in his first two-hour training session

José Gomes is now in the driving seat at UD Almería, conducting his very first training session with the squad, in which he has shown a lot of character and personality. In addition, he reflected with his attitude on the pitch the statements that he had previously made in his presentation. He was demanding with his players, energetic when giving instructions and spoke a lot with the footballers. He did not hesitate to stop the exercises either to correct or advise.

As he commented prior to the preparation, he has a game model, he likes to go out with the ball pushing up from the back, control with possession and attacking the goal, although as he made it clear, at the moment, above all, the goal is to work to win. And the team worked hard. He had several match situations to try out concepts and drills and see his players in action in order to draw the first conclusions. Always with maximum intensity and rigor.

Fernando, Petrovic and Vada, who has been feeling some discomfort recently, exercised normally and Aguza and Kaptoum were on the sidelines, although the first of them could be eligible for the play-offs. In addition, as we have reported, all the footballers who are one booking away from missing the next game on the last day of the regular phase, were not shown any yellow cards and will be free of bookings ahead of the play-offs, so that the new gaffer will have almost all footballers available.

This Wednesday, the Rojiblancos will get back to work in a morning training session at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium.
