João Carvalho, a 23-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder, becomes the fourteenth signing of UD Almería for the 2020/21 season, without counting Maras and Fran Villalba. He moves on loan from Nottingham Forest, competing in the EFL Championship, and the Rojiblanco club will have an option to buy at the end of this campaign.

João Antonio Antunes Carvalho was born in the Portuguese town of Castanheira de Pêra on 9th March, 1997 and started his football career in the ranks of Benfica, eventually making the leap to the senior team. In the 2018/19 season, he signed a contract with Nottingham Forest, a club with whom he played 67 games in the last two seasons with a tally of six goals and providing nine assists. João has clearly made an impact as international from Under-15 to Under-21 level with Portugal.
