Javi Muñoz and Leonardo Lelo get to work

The two latest arrivals join their new team-mates in training as UD Almería prepare for Sunday’s home fixture with Cádiz CF and target a return to winning ways

Javi Muñoz and Leonardo Lelo, the two latest additions to the UD Almería first-team squad, have joined their new team-mates in training under the guidance of head coach Xavier García Pimienta.

Javi Muñoz, who arrived from Getafe CF, had already trained with the squad last Sunday, taking part in the recovery session following the team’s game in Sabadell.

After Monday’s day off, UD Almería returned to training on Tuesday with a session delivered at the Anexo training ground. The two new signings were the main new faces at the session, with Javi Muñoz and Leonardo Lelo receiving the traditional welcome from his new teammates, who formed the customary guard of honour.

Nico Melamed and Sergio Arribas were the only absentees. The Catalan attacking midfielder started in Sabadell but continues to experience some muscular discomfort and remained in the medical room receiving treatment from the physiotherapy team.

Álex Muñoz, who took a heavy blow to the face during the match at the Nova Creu Alta stadium, trained wearing protective equipment. Chumi also continued to train with protection, as he has done since pre-season following the nasal fracture he suffered.

The Rojiblancos are now fully focused on preparing for Matchday 4, when Cádiz CF visit the UD Almería Stadium on Sunday at 9pm (Spanish Time).

After consecutive away defeats against CD Tenerife and CE Sabadell FC, UD Almería will be looking to return to winning ways and rediscover the positive performances and momentum they are seeking.

For the upcoming league fixture, Gui Guedes will remain unavailable after recently undergoing knee surgery, while Thalys will serve the 4th and final match of his suspension.
