Iván Martos suffers ACL tear in his right knee

Another serious injury within the UD Almeria squad. The Manresa-born player, who will undergo surgery, will be out of action between six and nine months

UD Almería central defender Iván Martos suffers an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee, an injury that he picked up last Friday during the away match played against Real Zaragoza. The 24-year-old footballer was involved in a 50/50 fight for the ball with opponent Juanjo Narváez. Iván Martos had to be taken off the pitch on a stretcher. After the diagnostic tests, it was confirmed that he will have to undergo surgery. The recovery time will be between six and nine months.

A myriad of serious injuries are taking their toll on the injury-hit UD Almería squad. A week before, Juanjo Nieto sustained the same injury in Malaga and shortly after, Chumi broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

Still further, Robertone and Carriço are making good progress from minor injuries.
