UD Almería bid fond farewell to Iván Martos

The Rojiblanco left-back, who has been linked to the Club from the lower ranks, departs UD Almeria

UD Almería and Iván Martos have reached an agreement for the termination of his contract. The player has been defending the UD Almería crest since he was 16 years old in the lower ranks, going through the 'B' team until making the leap to the first team, where he played brilliant seasons.
Iván Martos joined UD Almería U19 'B' in the 2013/14 campaign. Then, he made his UD Almería U19 'A' debut in the following season. Later, in the 2016/17 term, the left-back made the leap to the 'B' team. He rose through the ranks to become a first teamer in the 2017/18, making his senior debut in a match against Real Oviedo in the Segunda Division.
The defender always demonstrated a high degree of efficiency with the UD Almería senior team to achieve promotion to the Primera Division, the second time that Iván Martos celebrated a promotion, since he also earned promotion to Segunda Division 'B' with the 'B' team.
The Manresa native footballer has only been out of the Andalusian Club for two seasons. He was loaned out for one season to Rayo Vallecano (2020/21), a team with whom he also achieved promotion to the top flight in the 2022/23 season. He defended also the FC Cartagena crest after picking up a tough cruciate ligament injury that left him unemployed for six months.
UD Almería truly appreciate his professionalism and total commitment to both the 'B' team and the first team, and also wish him the best of luck in his footballing career.
