It’s been all victories at the weekend for UD Almería Academy youth ranks

Both Under-19s sides win away from home while debutants Under-14s ‘B’ win comfortably

Beyond Almeria ‘B’s away victory in the fourth-tier Tercera Division in Jaén, the three teams from the lower categories of the UD Almería Academy who played matches last weekend also managed to take all three points, thus it has been all successes for the whole of the UD Almeria youth ranks.

Although it is tense at the top of the league in which Almeria Under19-s ‘A’ compete, the Academy hopefuls visited Dos Hermanas San Andrés with the firm intention of continuing to fight for the top spots in the table. It was definitely a tightly-contested clash to the point that both sides shared chances of winning on a reduced-sized pitch that prevented spaces from being easily opened.

Over the course of the second half, the UD Almería’s quality was leading the Academy products to win the game. Both Abel Mellado, in the 56th minute, and Cato, in the 63rd, starred in Almeria’s win over their opponents. The two goals scored fired the youth team competing in Division de Honor to third position within group IV ‘A’ sitting three points behind current table-toppers Málaga.

On the other hand, Almeria Under19-s ‘B’ had to work their socks off to stay top of the table leading the pack within Liga Nacional group XIII ‘A’. In fact, Alberto Lasarte's pupils, who paid a visit to La Mojonera, were fiercely committed during the 90 minutes. With almost half an hour gone, Edu Plá made it 0-1 and gave way to great control of the game situation of the Rojiblancos until the final whistle.

It is worth highlighting that Almería Under14-s ‘B’ got off to a flyer after making debut this season at last! The young side headed to ‘Los Pinos’ sports complex where the children faced Español del Alquián. The Under14-s absolutely brilliant performance rewarded them with their first three points of the campaign.
