The left-back, Iván Martos, has valued the extension of his contract until June 2024. In this sense, he has stated that ‘it is to my satisfaction that the club counts on me for this great project. I am elated by the news and all I want right now is to do my very best in return for the great trust they have placed in me.’
A year ago, the Rojiblanco footballer signed his first professional contract until 2022. When Martos was questioned about this fact, he indicated that ‘this is not very common, but things have changed in the club with the arrival of the new owners. On both sides there has always been an interest in maintaining the relationship longer, and it has been resolved quickly.’
Furthermore, the 22-year-old defender, pointed out that ‘I have always been wanting to continue in Almería, where I have been since I joined U-19 Almeria group. I have gone through both teams in the club, first, in Almeria B competing in both Third Division and Second B Division, and now I am playing for the UD Almeria first squad; it is richly rewarding for me.’
Having said that, the player born in Manresa commented on the current situation that everyone is living at the moment, ‘these are difficult times, the days feel very long ... but we have to be aware that by doing our bit, we will get ahead’. The Rojiblanco showed appreciation and expressed gratitude to the fans and supporters, ‘They have always supported me in the same way as they support the team, and I really want to publicly thank them.’
