‘It is a great motivation joining a club with the highest aspirations’

Wilfrid Jaures Kaptoum has been presented as a new player of the UD Almeria after the red and white club has reached a transfer agreement until end of the season with Real Betis, although Almeria have option to buy at the end of loan and keep the player in the club permanently. 

The new Almeria footballer has been introduced by the club's CEO, Mohamed El Assy, who said: ‘we wanted to announce this before, but we had to sort out some transfer budget limits related to the LaLiga’. Also, the rojiblanco Chief Executive Officer has stressed that one of the main aims of the sports management was signing Kaptoum as they have been tracking the player until now’. 

In his speech, Wilfrid Kaptoum stressed that the UD Almeria’s goal gives him a strong motivation. In this regard, the midfielder said that ‘it is important for a player to have the motivation to get promoted to First Division. Almeria have driving ambitions and we are not going to hide that this is a strong motivation for the team and for me.’ 

He considers himself as a centre mid who ‘runs up and down the pitch’, adapting himself to ‘whatever the manager asks for’. In the same way, he has clarified that he likes having possession of the ball: ‘Football is played with a ball and whoever does not want it, should stay at home. I like to control the ball’, he laughed. 

The player arrives with a boundless enthusiasm and willing to ‘not letting down anyone who trusted me’.
