Iker Burgos trains with UD Almería first team ahead of key game

The UD Almería 'B' striker joins Rubi’s sessions while Miguel de la Fuente works separately. The squad gets midweek rest during intense preparation week

UD Almería continue their preparation during a long week that will end on Sunday with the home match against Real Sociedad 'B'. On Tuesday, the Rojiblancos held their second training session, following Saturday’s recovery work after returning from Huesca. The presence of UD Almería 'B' striker Iker Burgos, 24, was one of the main talking points of the session. The forward has already scored 9 goals in Group IV of the fourth-tier Segunda RFEF.

Head coach Rubi called him up to cover for Miguel de la Fuente, who worked separately from the group. Several more closed-door sessions are still planned for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The squad will have Wednesday off before entering the final phase of preparation ahead of facing Real Sociedad 'B'.

Stafan Dzôdić, called up to Serbia’s U21 squad as well as Gui Guedes, sidelined through injury, were not on the pitch. In addition, Léo Baptistão, sent off with a straight red in Huesca, will be suspended for the upcoming game against the Donostiarras.
