‘I truly believe in my team; why not aim for the highest objectives?’

Nikola Maras highlights his desire to start playing competitive matches and the UD Almería squad’s ambition

It is about to happen! The League is in the air…and Nikola Maras gave voice to his thoughts on the season resumption by joking with a smile on his face on UDA Radio ‘for me, it can start as early as tomorrow’, while adding: ‘It is obvious that we really want to compete when you see us training. To be honest, we are tired of just training and waiting.’

The Serbian centre-back foresaw that moment in which the official meetings will be a reality and did not hesitated to state that ‘everything depends on us’ in regard to the fight for the top two-finishing positions in the table to gain automatic promotion to Primera Division. ‘I think that if we start playing well, we can get ahead of them. I truly believe in my team. It is still early days…but why not aim for the highest objectives?’, wondered the defender.

In addition, the Belgrade-born player analysed the physical state of the squad and in his opinion the UD Almería footballers are ‘in good shape to play.’ However, he also pointed out that ‘we still have enough time to improve before LaLiga kicks off again’, so he believes that there is room for improvement.
