Standing ovation for UD Almería Women after historic promotion

UD Almería Women were honoured at the Stadium ahead of UD Almería vs UD Las Palmas after securing promotion to the Segunda RFEF women's tier just 7 days earlier, capping a scintillating season.

The players and coaching staff, accompanied by sponsor TCI, stepped onto the pitch at UD Almería Stadium in the build-up to the league fixture, receiving a huge ovation from supporters in recognition of their achievement.

Two players were absent from the ceremony, as Jessi Higueras and Paqui Campoy had already joined the training camp for the Spain women's national beach soccer team.

The promotion marks a major milestone for the Club, whose women’s side has been among the standout teams in the Tercera RFEF women's tier this season. They will now compete in the bronze tier of Spanish women’s football next campaign.

The match itself was sponsored by Coca-Cola, who organised several fan activities, including an escort kids experience and a half-time penalty shootout contest featuring young participants selected by the soft drinks brand.
