Morcillo: 'We’ve channeled the frustration we had from needing to win the game'

The second January signing made his UD Almería debut as a starter and got off the mark. 'I’m very happy with how things turned out,' said the winger

Jon Morcillo, the second of the January signings, started and scored in the match against AD Ceuta FC. After coming off the bench in the previous two games, he was given the chance to start, and he capitalised on a rebound from the Ceutí goalkeeper to make it 3-0. 'I’m really happy with how things have gone both collectively and individually, although the most important thing was getting the win. Personally, I felt very comfortable on the pitch and with my teammates,' he explained.

The Basque Country winger, who arrived from Albacete BP said: 'In the first half we played a great game, but in the second half, we maybe lacked better game management and keeping the ball, as there were a few minutes of doubt. But it’s true that the opponents also play an attacking game.'

'We released the frustration we had from not winning. It had been 3 games without a win, with 2 consecutive losses. The desire to get the 3 points was huge and we showed that. This team have the quality to produce this kind of performance, although you can’t always achieve it. We need to focus on the positives and correct the mistakes,' he concluded.
