'We’ve shown we can play in a different way from what we’re used to, by having less of the ball.'These were the words of  García Pimienta at the press conference following the match played at the  Zubieta. He described it as 'a very demanding game, just as we knew it would be,' something he had already warned about in his pre-match comments. The gaffer praised his players’ effort and attitude.

'We knew the potential of Real Sociedad 'B'. They have young, talented players who are very well prepared by their coach. They imposed a high tempo, played vertically and never gave up. When they scored their first goal to make it 1–3, they kept pushing, and with two minutes remaining they got back into the game with their second goal. However, we launched a very quick counterattack to score the fourth,' García Pimienta explained.

Nevertheless, te Barcelona native stressed: 'We did things very well to win here. We knew how to defend and take advantage of our chances.'

Among the many strong performances from my team, UD Almería’s head coach singled out goalkeeper Andrés Fernández, who made several crucial interventions.

The gaffer also stated: 'Wining 7 consecutive matches is a significant achievement. Things are going our way, but that’s because we’re working to make it happen.'

He was equally clear that 'we have an excellent points tally, Iialthough winning is going to become increasingly difficult.” He added: “If we aren’t at 100%, it will be difficult to win. Likewise, if we play at our highest level, it will be difficult for teams to beat us.”

Finally, Xavier García Pimienta publicly thanked the Almería supporters who travelled to Zubieta to cheer on the team.

'There weren’t many of them, but we felt their support,' he said.
