Rubi: 'We achieved a truly well-deserved victory'
'Beating Cádiz CF 3-0 was especially valuable given the rivals' characteristics, as they came into this Matchday with the league's second-best defensive record,' the UD Almería head coach pointed out
UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia, known as Rubi, was full of praise for his team after their dominant 3-0 victory over Cádiz CF. In his post-match comments, Rubi described the win as 'truly well-deserved' and highlighted the team's 'very complete match' performance.
'We had some better spells of play and some more average ones, but overall we controlled the match well. It's true that they had a counter-attack early on, but apart from that, we didn't suffer again,' he stressed.
The Catalan head coach also emphasised the significance of the result, noting that Cádiz CF, with the second-best defensive record in LaLiga Hypermotion and the fewest goals conceded, represented a tough challenge. 'Winning in this league is extremely difficult and to do it by 3 goals is truly remarkable given the characteristics of Cádiz CF,' he added.
Rubi also acknowledged the depth and motivation within his squad: 'The players are highly motivated and faced the challenge of scoring against Cádiz CF. We don't just have 11 reliable players, but many more and I'm very pleased about that,' he said. He also pointed to the impact of returning players like Thalys, Centelles, Gui Guedes and Arnau Puigmal, who were back in the starting XI for the match.
Despite the strong performance, Rubi called for humility, caution and continued hard work, recognising that there is still a long road ahead in the season.
