Marciano: I've fulfilled my dream of playing in the Spanish Primera Division

The 19-year-old makes senior UD Almería debut in the Spanish top flight in Bilbao. He believes that hard graft will help the team overcome this rough patch and hopes to be handed out more starting spots this season

'I've fulfilled my dream of playing in the Spanish Primera Division,' stated UD Almería 'B' youngster Marciano Sanca on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station. Despite being only 19 years old, the Academy starlet has been joining the first-teamers in training since the pre-season kicked off and therefore, he expressed words of gratitude 'for the coaching staff, for my team-mates and for the fans, who always help me so much.'

'Making my senior UD Almeria debut in the top flight and above all, in a stadium like San Mamés is an honour and I'm pretty sure that 'My whole family will be very proud,' the Guinea-Bissau native explained.

Despite his sheer happiness, Marciano regretted the Rojiblancos' bitter defeat to Athletic Club de Bilbao (3-0) and the team's winless run. He highlighted: 'I'm sure that with hard graft and giving it our all we'll get over this situation and UD Almería will stay up in the top division.'

The 19-year-old centre-forward also hopes to contribute to it because as he indicated: 'I want to be handed out more regular starting spots and continue playing in the top flight. I'll work as hard as I've been doing until now.'

Pedro Morales, one of the tutors at the UD Almería Footballers Accommodation received a special mention: 'I'm going to give him my shirt because he's always supporting me, waiting for me, driving me to training... I'm extremely grateful to him and I owe him a lot.'
