Rubi: 'We must value the point positively because of how the game panned out'
The UD Almería head coach insisted that SD Huesca's second goal has taken its toll on the Rojiblancos, but determined 'in the second half, we worked the extra mile to look for the goal'
UD Almería head coach Rubi went to the El Alcoraz press room to share his thoughts on the 2-2 draw in which his side had to suffer until the end. 'The team have worked until the very last second to try to win the game, finally getting a point in a complicated situation,' stated the Catalan.
The Rojiblancos' head coach gave a brief analysis of the encounter against SD Huesca: 'The match began with the possibility of taking the lead, which wasn't possible. In the second half, it was difficult for us to start, to find spaces, because SD Huesca are a team that defend very well and the second goal against us has taken it's toll on us. From there, it's clear that we haven't let our guard down and although it's been difficult, we've obtained a point that must be valued in a very positive way due to how the game panned out.'
The Vilassar de Mar native highlighted the Oscenses' second goal, which from his point of view has decided the outcome of the match: 'We tried to open the pitch, crossing in non-stop and from time to time, we tried to occupy a corridor in the middle. What has affected us a lot is the second goal, which confused us for a long time.'
Rubi pointed out how odd the start of UD Almería's competition is for him in every sense: 'At this start of the league, strange things are happening to us, both positive and negative. I don't think the team were asleep today, but they scored a goal from a corner and missed a penalty, which marked the first half. In the second, we worked the extra mile to look for the goal.'
