Gaizka Garitano: If we all pull together, we'll get the job done

The newly appointed UD Almería head coach looked really confident in his official presentation and assured the media that he is optimistic and that if he had not seen things clearly, he would not have come here

Newly appointed UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano has been presented to the media in the Power Horse Stadium press room by Club Managing Director Mohamed El Assy. The Basque Country native has shown himself really confident and eager to start reversing the situation soon: 'As we're in the same boat, we all must pull together to get the job done, I'm optimistic.' Furthermore, he stressed: 'If I hadn't seen things clearly, I wouldn't have come here. It's a complicated situation but UD Almería can get through this rough patch.'

'I like taking on difficult challenges, I've got experience in the Spanish Primera Division and I know the players well. I've also followed this team for a long time and I'm pretty sure that we're going to achieve victories. Otherwise I wouldn't have come here as I've just said. This is a good team, there are devoted fans and if we all stick together, we'll help UD Almería win,' Mr Garitano reiterated.

When it comes down to his ideal team, preferred system and game plan, the Bilbao-born assured the journalists: 'We must be highly competitive because the first division is absolutely complicated and here, we all earn a living by winning games.' The new man at the helm of UD Almería and his coaching staff have joined the Club with great enthusiasm: 'We want the dressing room to be in good spirits and show their desire to win like us. The players have to believe in themselves and that will be achieved through good results. I believe in hard graft. We need  training, sacrifice, discipline and organisation.'

'We cannot ignore that we have the necessary abilities and the quality required to compete in the Primera Division,' the 48-year-old concluded.
