6 UD Almería players 1 booking away from suspension ahead of final Matchday

Marcos Luna and Bonini return, but Chirino, Nelson Monte, Gui Guedes, André Horta and Miguel de la Fuente risk missing the first play-off semi-final if booked against Real Valladolid

Up to 6 UD Almería players head into the final Matchday one yellow card away from suspension, a significant concern ahead of Sunday’s clash against Real Valladolid. Any booking in the fixture would rule them out of the first leg of the promotion play-off semis.

League suspensions carry over into the play-offs, meaning players who reach the threshold will serve their ban in the next competitive match. However, those who avoid a yellow card against Pucela will enter the play-offs with a clean slate, where suspensions are then applied in cycles of three bookings.

Head coach Rubi will be able to count on the return of Marcos Luna and Bonini after they served their respective suspensions, although the Italian defender remains on four yellow cards following his dismissal against UD Las Palmas.

The players currently on a booking away from suspension are Chirino, Nelson Monte, Gui Guedes, André Horta and Miguel de la Fuente.

With Luna and Bonini available for selection again, attention will also be on the fitness of André Horta and Chirino, both of whom were subbed during the match in Gijón, with Horta forced off shortly after coming on.
