Rubi: 'What they did to us was very hard; they wiped us out'

The UD Almería head coach didn't hesitate to estate: 'It's difficult to accept the two sending-offs we suffered during the match.' the gaffer, who also was issued a straight red card, praised the performance put in by his players and the unconditional support of the travelling fans

UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' shared his post-match thoughts in all honesty at the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium press room: 'What they did to us today was very hard; they wiped us out. I can't say anything else; it's very difficult to accept those two sending-offs. I don't understand it because it's a football match with divided duels, with balls that go diagonally…' He commented on Kaiky's marching orders: 'The ball is heading towards the goal and it's a foul that Roger does very well, as if were a shirt pulling. It's a matter of having played a lot of football to understand those situations.'

The Catalan was pleased with his players' invigorated performance, although he also lamented Cádiz CF's comeback: 'I want to congratulate our players, who gave it their all, and it was very difficult to hold on today. It's a shame because our winning mentality cost us the second goal.' He added: ' For me, we made the mistake of going for a corner and leaving just one behind. Fatigue makes you make wrong decisions. I also want to congratulate the fans for their backing; at least I can rest assured that they saw it.'

Rubi acknowledged the importance of the remaining matches for the Rojiblancos: 'There's a lot at stake, and we're not going to do anything but cry; it works for other teams; we want the fairest possible refereeing.'

Finally, the Vilassar de Mar native insisted that despite the unfair result, he's proud of the performance put in by the Indálicos: 'We can't compete for those top-two spots, but we fell with great dignity; fighting so many minutes with two players less was a feat, and we were also well positioned, defending crosses well...'
