Marc Pubill: 'The most important moment of the season has come'

The UD Almería right-back speaks of 'the moment of truth' and acknowledges on UDA Radio: 'We're very hungry to return to the top division.' The right-back scored his first goal of the season

UD Almería's right-back Marc Pubill gave an interview on the Club's official radio station to discuss various topics related to the current situation at the Club. On an individual level, he said: 'I'm in good form at the moment. I can feel it on the pitch and in training. I feel great. There are players whose seasons seem long, but I feel better when we get to the end.' He defines himself as 'a powerful footballer. I like to have the ball, shoot forward, and have an attacking vocation.'

The Catalan believes the 4-1 win over Zaragoza could be a turning point: 'After the bad run we were on, this win has been good for us both mentally and football-wise and I hope it's the catalyst for another good run.'

Pubill, who was tasked with putting the icing on the cake last Saturday with the Rojiblancos' fourth goal, reviewed how the rehearsed play came about: 'We practised the set-piece a lot with the coaching staff. Against Real Zaragoza, Robertone set it up perfectly, and I attacked it well. I'd been finishing for several weeks but it wasn't going in, and we were finally able to put the game to bed. Luis Suárez, with his 21 goals, knows how to celebrate better than I do.'

On Friday, they face Burgos CF, who have recorded 3 consecutive clean sheets. The defender told UDA Radio: 'They're in good form. It's clear they're a very good team, but we're going to try to end that streak and take the 3 points.'

The player also referred to this final stretch of the competition as 'the most decisive' and stated the following: 'There will be 11 finals; this is where everything is decided, and we have to push one last time to achieve automatic promotion. The team are very hungry to do so. It's something we talk about every day in the dressing room and we constantly keep in mind.'
