Gui Guedes suffers fifth metatarsal fracture of left foot

The UD Almería midfielder undergoes surgery this Tuesday and will be on the treatment table for approximately three months. Injuries continue to affect the squad, especially the midfield positions

UD Almería midfielder Gui Guedes suffers a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his left foot as detected by the medical tests that the Portuguese footballer has undergone. The midfielder was forced off the pitch against Málaga CF in the 14th minute due to an injury, which at first seemed to be to his ankle. He tried to continue, but it was impossible and he was finally replaced by Gonzalo Melero.

Gui is going to undergo surgery this Tuesday by Dr Claudio Vázquez, head of medical services for the Spanish football team at the Vithas Virgen del Mar hospital in Almería. The recovery period can be around three months.

Injuries continue to affect the squad, especially the midfield positions. Lucas Robertone had to undergo surgery for a shoulder dislocation back in October, while Baba recently suffered a partial anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee and now it is Gui Guedes who will be out.
