Getting pitches ready for pre-season and league kick-off

The ‘Anexo’ ground, the Juegos Mediterraneos pitch and La Vega de Acá field are getting their turf replaced by the Royalverd company

The Anexo and Juegos Mediterraneos pitches used by the UD Almería first team to perform training sessions and play league fixtures are getting their grass replaced ahead of pre-season and LaLiga SmartBank kick-off. The La Vega de Acá training pitch where Almeria ‘B’ usually perform their training sessions is also being remodelled.

The Royalverd company, responsible for ensuring UD Almeria have pristine pitches to run out on, is changing the type of grass from Reygrass (winter) to Bermuda (summer), until a break between home games provides a window for a quick and necessary fix in Autumn (September or October).

The Anexo training ground is going to be ready for UD Almería to get back into the daily grind on Monday, 12 July. Regarding the stadium’s turf, the change of grass began as soon as the play-off semi-final second leg against Girona FC ended on 5 June. The Juegos Mediterraneos pitch must be perfect in time for the start of the Rojiblancos’ next campaign which is likely to kick off on the weekend of 14-15 August.
