Garitano: "We must continue fighting out of respect for a city and the fans"

The UD Almería head coach shared his post-Vigo thoughts: 'It's a tough defeat because it was a great opportunity to get closer to league survival.' In addition, regarding Luka Romero's injury, he highlighted the reality of this season: 'Misfortunes never come singly'

UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano shared his thoughts at the press conference after his team's 1-0 defeat to Celta de Vigo. 'We were alive in the game, we were defending well, although we were having a hard time creating plays up front, but then being reduced to nine, ten players, it was very complicated,' he explained.

Unfortunately, bad luck is taking its toll on the Rojiblancos this season, apart from not winning, a myriad of injuries are the order of the day at the Club and furthermore, it seems that when that player is at his very best, suddenly he's most likely to be unavailable for the team. It already happened with striker Luis Suárez and on this occasion, it was Luka Romero. The Argentinian footballer had the misfortune that Pubill, trying to clear the ball, kick the winger's face. 'It looks like a broken jaw, he's been taken to the hospital and I hope it's not that serious,' Mr Garitano said to the media.

With this tough, very tough defeat, the Rojiblancos have league safety 15 points away, a big gap to bridge. Despite this fact, the UD Almería gaffer stated and assured: 'We must continue fighting out of respect for a city, for the fans and we must move forward,' he also clarified: 'Misfortunes never come singly; Luka's injury, then being down to 10 men, Léo Baptistão's ankle issue...' and concluded by stating: 'It's a tough defeat because it was an opportunity to get closer to league survival.'
