Garitano: "I want to see the fans enjoy a victory"

The UD Almería head coach states: 'We have the hope of going to Granada and winning so that it'll be our turning point.' Being solid, like against Athletic, will be the key to success

'I want to see the fans enjoy a victory because they truly deserve it,' said UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano in the pre-Granada press conference. He is looking forward to achieving the first victory of the 2023/24 season, when there is still some room to react. In fact, he emphasised: 'We have the hope of going to Granada and winning, which will be our turning point.

The Basque Country native is well aware of the difficulties of the next fixture because it will also be a final for the rivals, regardless of the home advantage since they will play at a sold-out Nuevo Los Carmenes Stadium. 'I expect the best version of Granada CF,' said Gaizka Garitano, although he then pointed out: 'I'm more concerned about what we can do. If we play at a good level, we can collect the three points.'

When asked about the keys to the match, the Bilbao-born responded 'being solid like against Athletic Club de Bilbao last Monday,' although he clarified "avoiding making specific mistakes, often silly, that are taking their toll on us.'

The gaffer stressed: 'We're competing well and over the last few months our performance means we can win on any pitch.' For the Rojiblancos' head coach 'if we're failing it isn't because we do not study,' but because of those details that he mentioned.

The coaching team have seen upturn in form. Showing the strength of the last game and trying to improve efficiency in attack will to help them to pick up three points in one go for the first time this campaign.

Mr Garitano insisted, despite the team's situation: 'We aren't giving up and we continue working our fingers to the bone to reverse the situation.' Winning would be more than necessary and also well-deserved due to the positive attitude of the squad in training and later in the LaLiga matches. 'We want to win for ourselves, for the Club, for you... but above all for the fans who despite the critical moment in which we find ourselves, have the best behavior. It's incredible and we want to win once and for all.'
