Beating CD Eldense would send UD Almería back to promotion play-off spots
After Granada CF's defeat in Málaga, UD Almería can move up to 6th in the standings after 11 consecutive matches outside the promotion play-off spots
UD Almería have the opportunity to return to the promotion play-off zone this Sunday if they win or draw with CD Eldense in the match they will play at 6:30pm at the UD Almería stadium. Granada CF's 1-0 defeat to Málaga CF means the Rojiblancos can return to the top-six spots in the standings, which offer a chance to fight for promotion to the top flight.
The Rojiblancos and the Granadinistas are currently level on points in the standings with 59 points, although the Indálicos have one game in hand, which they will play this Sunday. The victory is even more rewarding because Rubi's side would be 3 points behind Granada CF, not to mention that SD Huesca, who lost to Real Oviedo, would be 4 points behind.
UD Almería could take a very important step in their aspirations because, despite the above, they would still have CD Mirandés as close as Real Oviedo, who won on this Matchday.
The match against CD Eldense, therefore, takes on very special importance for UD Almería. The UD Almería Stadium also has to contribute its part to the team with the massive attendance of fans. 5 league games remain, 3 of which will be held at home, which is really significant.
