Game vs Huétor Tájar offers Almeria ‘B’ the possibility of approaching the leadership

The homegrown players, who are runners-up, face the postponed matchday-5 fixture at 6:00 p.m. CET on Wednesday

The UD Almería ‘B’ team will catch up on the number of games played within group IX ‘A’ in fourth-tier Tercera Division with their visit to Huétor Tájar at 6:00 p.m. (CET) on Sunday. Matchday-5 fixture could not be fulfilled before due to some opponents-to-be testing positive for Covi-19 on that date.

The Rojiblancos products have before them the excellent opportunity to get closer to the leadership, since they are the current runners-up, with four points less than Torreperogil. In addition, Almeria have the deep desire to romp to victory after beating Real Jaén last Sunday.

The match will not be piece of cake. In-form CD Huétor Tájar now sit third in the table standings, level on points with Almeria ‘B’, and therefore, the meeting also offers the team led by Fernando Santos the exciting possibility to have an edge on direct rivals in the fight for promotion.

The Almería ‘B’ team coach will not submit the squad list until the morning before the match given that matchday 5 coincides with the Almeria first-team cup tie in the Spanish Cup. As a consequence, it will be necessary to wait for the senior team squad list members who will be travelling to Hospitalet (Barcelona) to find out which players will be visiting the youngsters from Granada.  Some Almeria Under19-s lads are expected to join the second team.
