Gaizka Garitano becomes the new UD Almería head coach as he has put pen-to-paper on a deal for the remainder of the 2023/24 season and the following, after the agreement reached by the Club and the 48-year-old Basque Country native coach.

The newly appointed Rojiblancos' coach will head up the team as from this Monday. With a brilliant professional career, Gaizka Garitano has been chosen by UD Almería in order to put an end to the winless run since the beginning of the season, gain plaudits for improving performances and maintaining the Club’s LaLiga EA Sports status.

Gaizka Garitano has been in the dugout in more than 300 professional football fixtures, most of them in the top flight of Spanish football in charge of teams with the likes of Athletic Club de Bilbao, SD Eibar and RC Deportivo de La Coruña.

The new Bilbao-born UD Almería gaffer is a very methodical and hard-working coach who will bring with him new ideas to unite the squad. Also, he will try to get the Indálicos’ season back on track with techniques and attributes to help them improve their football defending skills, which today is UD Almería's Achilles heel.

Welcome to UD Almería.
