Francis Guerrero: ‘We have got eleven finals ahead of us to reach our goal’

The right-back believes that it will be an evenly matched League and the possibility of moving up to the top flight will be quite a brilliant feat

‘There are eleven games ahead with so much at stake for every team. Every single match that we win will bring us closer to achieve our goal.’ These were statements made by Francis Guerrero on the club's official radio station, UDA Radio, after the second day of full squad training towards the return of the championship.

The 24-year-old right-back expressed his opinion that ‘we should not challenge ourselves to achieve a certain number of victories but to go match by match.’ Francis has noticed since the start of the Second Division that ‘there is a group of teams that are very close in points,’ and therefore, he added: ‘we have to think that there are eleven finals.’

The race for promotion is hotting up now and the Malagueño acknowledged that ‘earning a promotion to First Division would be a brilliant feat’ for the first-team UD Almería squad. When it comes to his football career, the right-back stated how getting promotion to the First Division as part of the Rojiblanco team ‘would be a unique and unforgettable experience’. ‘Actually, I have not been lucky enough to enjoy any promotion yet so I would be really excited,’ he stressed.

The Coín-born player, who has been today’s guest on the club’s official radio station, has also expressed his burning desire for the ball to start rolling. The thing is that Francis has not been able to make many appearances for Almeria due to an injury that kept him away from the pitch during several match weeks; soon after, the Spanish government formally declared a state of emergency over the coronavirus. ‘I have got eleven games ahead of me to become the best version of myself and do my bit so that we achieve our goal!’ he exclaimed with delight.
