Football is back with friendly double-header!
UD Almería face the first two pre-season tests against Granada CF and SL Benfica. Break on Monday and suitcases packed to head to Marbella's boot camp on Tuesday. Edgar rejoins the squad
There won't be three points at stake but perhaps there will be more important things. UD Almería face to first two friendly matches of the pre-season in an optimistic way to be back in action. A weekend is coming with two consecutive games and two really interesting summer opponents. Obviously, it must be taken into account the great physical workloads that the footballers have after the numerous training sessions completed since the beginning of the month. In this Friday's practice, the presence of Édgar has been the highlight. Although he has not completed the training session until the end, the Rojiblanco is back to business after being sidelined in the last days due to a virus.
This Saturday, the friendly opener will take place against Granada CF in Motril. Without a doubt, it is an interesting encounter between two teams that will lock horns in 2024/25 and that face the pre-season with extra motivation to move on from the most recent past. The match kicks off at 7:30pm (Spanish Time) and will be played at the Escribano Castilla Stadium.
The Club will broadcast the match through the official Twich Channel. All those fans who are going to travel to see the match, tickets are on sale in Motril with the following prices: €10 adults and €5 for youngsters from 12 to 16 years old.
In addition, on Sunday at 3:30pm (Spanish Time), Rubi's side will travel to France (via Switzerland) to face off against SL Benfica, at the Stade Joseph-Moynat Stadium. A high-altitude match - alpine, we could say - with which the head coach will continue testing for optimal preparation. As this international friendly will be played in less than 24 hours after the previous one, it will allow the greatest number of players to be lined up with the intention of analysing what each one can contribute. On Monday, the team will have a more than well-deserved rest, they will resume training on Tuesday morning and just at the end of this session, they will head to their boot camp in Marbella where, as soon as they arrive, they will exercise in the afternoon after lunch.
