First weekday match of season beckons in busy week

UD Almería host Real Sociedad ‘B’ this Thursday and visit CD Mirandés on Sunday, matches to be played in less than 72 hours

The first weekday match of the season beckons in a very busy week for the UD Almería first-team squad as they will have to play 2 games in less than 72 hours.

It is a frenzy of activity because on Thursday, 21 October, the Rojiblancos are hosting Real Sociedad ‘B’. The league appointment comes 6 days after the match against SD Eibar, however after playing against the Txuri Urdin ‘B’ team next Thursday, UD Almeria will have to set out on a long journey up north in order to take on CD Mirandés at the Anduva Stadium.

Rubi will have very little time to prepare for this fixture. Two training sessions on Friday and Saturday have been scheduled. The UD Almería travelling squad will travel to Miranda de Ebro, via Vitoria, because the kick-off is set at 2pm (Spain Time) which makes impossible travelling on the same day of the match.

A coach once said that the best way of training is playing games, but recovery is also essential and the Rojiblancos will not have time for it, so Rubi, as he has already reported, will take advantage of these games to make changes in the team’s formation.

In addition, the next weekday fixture will come at the beginning of November.
